What is Pi-hole?
TL;DR: Pihole is basically a filter that your internet traffic goes through, and if ads is detected, they will get filtered out. Unfortunately not all ads will get removed (Youtube ads for example) but it does a very good job at ordinary webpages. Watch the video of a more indepth explanation.

Information about Pi-hole:
Network-wide protection
Instead of browser plugins or other software on each computer, install Pi-hole in one place and your entire network is protected.
Block in-app advertisements
Network-level blocking allows you to block ads in non-traditional places such as mobile apps and smart TVs, regardless of hardware or OS.
Improve network performance
Since advertisements are blocked before they are downloaded, network performance is improved and will feel faster.
Monitor statistics
Our Web interface offers control of your Pi-hole and a central place to view statistics. We also include an API for extending these stats.

Hello , just saying thanks !!! This is fast and amazing .
Is their an option where I can disable porn also …
Thanks
Thank you Andy! My Pihole server only block ads and some malicious sites. You can setup your own Pihole server, and block whatever you want tho.
Nice Job and thx for the free public Service.
Usecase:
Tried adding this in Android via ” Private DNS feature”. The entered dns Server has to use DoT(dns-over-tls) and you have to use a dns entry and no IP Adress.
“Issue”:
Robert and Andy both have a ptr for their Services, but (sadly) don’t seem to offer DoT
My2cents:
Would be a nice future improvement to enable custom dns on Android with cellular without the need to use a permanent vpn connection. The overhead is quite heavy on battery and your data plan 🙂
If you want to have a few back-up pi-holes, then check out https://pi-dns.com
They also have a strict privacy policy regarding query logs and privacy and isn’t a random public resolver that logs everything.
Hi, I do not see your pihole IP anymore on this page, have you disabled it?
Unfortunately, I had to disable my pi-hole for external use, due to malicious activity. I may open it up at another time.
For now, i recommended that you use some pi-hole from this list:
